Components of the Healthy Food in Health Care Pledge

Improve Nutritional Quality

Diet related chronic disease places great burden on the health care system.

Poor nutrition is linked to high chronic disease rates, including obesity, heart disease and certain cancers.

Hospitals can promote improved nutrition by providing more fresh fruits and vegetables, more whole grain products and reducing offerings of refined and processed foods.
